(More customer reviews)This particular item is fantastic!Functionality is awesome!The box itself is a little hard to handle by a single person, but can easily be handled by two.For security, go ahead and order the locking hitch pin, for stability reasons, order the hitch tightener, and for legality reasons, go ahead and order the license plate relocation kit with light.Unfortunately, I was awaiting the item for an upcoming trip, and when it arrived, the hardware and swingaway was not part of the shipment.The customer service that I received following that initial call was atrocious, and each process and escalation procedure that was, or wasn't followed needs to be looked at and corrected accordingly.I am in the customer service industry, and was extremely disappointed, not only in the ways that my issue was handled, but the number of times that I was lied to by representitives of the company.If one more persons reads me a script of how they are the supervisor on duty, and that a manager is not available, I'm going to scream, and insist yet AGAIN to speak to someone in the US.Overall a very sad, disappointing customer service experience, and I will make sure that hundreds and potentially thousands of people hear about it.

Thule 232 Step Up Wheel Step Review

(More customer reviews)This step is a great idea for those who put their skis/snowboards on the roof of the SUV. We used to stand on the tire itself or on the 2nd row seats but decided there had to be a better way.This step is easy to adjust and feels very stable.Now we don't have to do the gymnastics any more.

Now the bad news.We used it at the house to load up, at the slopes to unload and to reload and then at home again to unload.A weld on one of the buckles broke making the step unusable.The unit is riveted together so there is no way to replace just the broken part.Thule has a good warranty and Amazon has provided great support. Amazon is sending out a replacement.Hopefully the new one won't develop the same problem.

Rola 59501 Roof Top Cargo Basket Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a pair of Rola roof racks for our Hyundai Elantra (which didn't fit well at all) and ordered this roof rack thinking it would fit to their own racks. Boy was I wrong. This is the biggest engineering fail I've ever seen. The u-brackets included aren't long enough to fit the mounting brackets they include *when used with their own roof rack*!I had to go to Lowe's to buy washer and nuts to replace the wing nuts they included that would not grab the threads (the supplied wing nuts, by the way, had they fit, would have stuck up about 1/2" below the bottom of the rack, resulting in four "posts" I would have had to pack around) . On top of that, once I finally got the nuts on (I had MYABE 1/4" of thread for them to "grab"), tightening the brackets down only served to deform the bottom of the roof rack, instead of settling nicely into place.

However, after some creative engineering to get it to stay on tightly, I was able to load it up with a fair amount of gear and bungee it down. It seemed reasonably sturdy and held up well to a 2,000 mile trip through some rain and wet snow.Overall, I liked the rack but was supremely frustrated by the poor execution of the mounting system.

(More customer reviews)Assembly is very easy however that's the only nice thing.I only had this on top of my Jeep for 2 months before it started to rust at it's assembly points.The rust then leaked ontop of my jeep creating havoc on my paint.Will not recommend this unit.Spend the extra money and get something nicer.

Valley 90350 Roof Basket Cargo Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)I actually looked into building my own basket style cargo rack but really you can hardly buy the materials for the cost of this Valley Cargo Carrier. It's light weight yet very strong, great coating on it as well.

Extremely easier to put together, litterally takes just a few minutes.

The only issue is if your cross bars aren't very far apart. I have an old Jeep with a hardtop and the roof rack mounts are pretty close together. The valley basket carrier comes with four mounts to secure it to your cross bars. The problem I had is that I could only get the front ones on, on the rear mounts I couldn't get it to line up, basically I needed my bars to be another 6 or so inches farther apart.

But, this was easily fixable, I just went to the hardware store and for about 4 bucks got a few u-bolts and secured the back of the cargo carrier on with those. And the included mounts are built very well and even have quick release bots on them.

Overall I'm very happy and would still purchase again even with that one issue.

Rola 59102 Expandable Hitch Tray Cargo Bag Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this for a recent trip of about 1000 miles round trip and it was just what we wanted. Well, I suppose it could be just a bit larger but such is life. The liner/casing is very sturdy - it displayed no wear from the trip. The zippers are beefy and they withstood a lot of yanking around. Also, when I tossed it on the Lund 20x60 hitch carrier (also bought on Amazon) I stuffed a big suitcase in it, tried unsuccessfully to shove it around to get it in place, then realized I was getting caught on the bolts that face inward on the Lund. I grimaced and figured it would have torn huge holes in the casing but it was barely punctured! The expandable top is great although I can't imagine ever not wanting it to be expanded. The integrated straps are smart although the buckles seemed a bit chinsy. They held just fine, but I might replace them with belts that have ratchets on them and strap it around the entire bag to the carrier. We'll see - after 1000 miles with 3 little ones we might hold off on that next trip for a bit...

I was afraID IT WOULD NOT FIT because I have the panoramic sunroof, but it all fit.It was all close, but it works. There is a fair amount of wind noise at 65-70mph, but not horrible. The basket and this extension are well made and go together easy. I am happy with the entire purchase.
